Aleisha is the founder of Ultimate Edge Communications, a boutique media communications agency based in Sydney who is on a mission to become Australia’s leading media agency for producing exponential client results.
Aleisha focuses on bringing a personalised approach when it comes to her clients, ensuring that she can produce results that will surpass their previously projected outcomes. This is evident in the feedback that she receives, with the National Sales Director at Australian Radio Network staying that “Aleisha’s first concern is for her clients. She takes the time to really understand and quantify her client’s needs”.
This kind of personal care shines through her in more ways than one. Many people when discussing their wins will tell you about the awards they have won, strategic partnerships they have lined up, or their sales targets being met. Not Aleisha, her biggest wins include the fact that she has learnt to 100% back herself while surrounding herself with a world class team.
We caught up with Aleisha to have a chat about what it takes to build up a media empire that continues to create its greatest supporters through their own clients.
What have been your biggest challenges since starting your business?
The most challenging thing is to figure out what your next best step is when there are probably about 20 different things you should be doing right away to improve the business as a whole. At the very beginning there is so much to do and it can quickly become overwhelming. I had to learn fast to chunk the big stuff down and tackle one thing at a time. I soon realised that anything that wasn’t the best and highest use of my time needed to be outsourced.
What have been your biggest wins since starting your business?
In the last 5 months I have doubled the business. In our second year in business I am proud to say we are billing $5 million in agency revenue. If I was to sum up what the “Big Wins” have been through I would have to say this….
1) Learning how to back myself 100% and really go for it
2) Finding great people and bringing them on board to grow the team
3) Turning our clients into our biggest supporters
What do you hope to achieve in the next year?
I want to double the size of the business and add a full service creative department.
What inspires you most about your work? What do you love about running your own business?
Each day I am creating my own path and ultimately designing my future! I love the possibilities I am creating, I love the challenge of raising the bar in our industry and I am incredibly passionate about achieving great results on every campaign that we work on!

Chunk the big stuff down, stay focused on your outcomes and chase your dream fearlessly.
What advice would you give to someone just starting a business or who wants to start? What do you wish you had been told at the beginning?
Don’t let the noise of everyone else around you saying you can’t do it drown out the voice inside you that knows you can! Stay focused on your dreams and know that if you believe in your purpose enough – you can totally make it happen! Also from a more boring perspective, make sure you stay focused and get some serious systems in place as quickly as possible to ensure that when you do grow fast you don’t fall over just as fast!
What impact has the Scalable & Saleable Program and our community had on your business and your life?
I think the biggest thing for me has been having a community of people that are in the same boat as me and experiencing the same challenges. It has been so wonderful to share and collaborate with like minded entrepreneurs that are on a similar journey. I have also found the vision, mission and values elements incredibly valuable and as a result I am doing a complete rebrand of the business for 2016.
